100% Grassfed Beef From NFR

Why Grassfed?

Most cows start out living similar lives. The calves are born in the spring or fall, drink milk from their mothers and are then allowed to roam free and eat grass, shrubs or whatever edible plants they find in their environment. This continues for about 6 to 12 months. After that, the “conventionally” raised cows are moved to feedlots. There, the cattle are fattened up with grain-based feeds. The cattle live there until optimal slaughter weight is achieved and are processed. Compare that to organic grass-fed cattle, which may continue to live on grassland for the remainder of their lives.

Grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef are two completely different foods. Grass-fed beef isn’t a luxury item – it’s real meat. Grass-fed beef is in a league of its own. Eating grass-fed meat may be one of the healthier choices you can make. Ruminant animals like cattle are meant to eat and forage on grass. NFR Beef does not use any hormones, antibiotics, or other chemicals in the production of our beef.

Grassfed Beef is an alternative to conventionally raised beef. Certified organic  grass-fed beef can have the same amount of fat as wild caught salmon. Some research reflects lean beef actually lowers your “bad” LDL cholesterol levels. Beef from certified grass-fed animals has been found in some studies to be lower in fat than meat from grain-fed animals.
